Meet jan gehl at the world congress

Jan Gehl will be a featured keynote speaker at the 2023 World Congress. We are thrilled to have him, and we look forward to hearing his views on how to create a sustainable and inclusive architecture for the future.

We are happy to announce, that world famous Danish architect and urban planner Jan Gehl will be joining us as keynote speaker at the UIA2023CPH World Congress in June 2023.

Few architects have had such an impact on the understanding and development of public space in our cities as Jan Gehl. Throughout his career, he has been the standard bearer for the importance of architecturally well-functioning outdoor environments and public spaces. Always keeping focus on how the built environment connects to people’s quality of life his theories of life between buildings have had a major impact on the development of sustainable urban environments worldwide.

Jan Gehl is recipient of the UIA Sir Patrick Abercrombie Prize for exemplary contributions to Town Planning and Territorial Development. He has been consultant to numerous cities including Sydney, London, New York and Moscow and has presented his research, theories and tools in six books published in countries all over the world.
