UIA 2023 CPH Scientific Committee Kick-off Event

The kick-off event on November 23 will result in upcoming calls and possiblities of contributing your work to the congress in the near future.

The UIA2023CPH Science Track is central to the agenda Sustainable Futures – Leave No One Behind of the UIA2023CPH World Congress. The overarching goal of the Science Track is to foster the knowledge needed for architecture and the built environment to understand, build and fulfil its active role in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In 2020, a Scientific Committee of leading international researchers was appointed to develop calls and formulate provocative and inspirational questions that will invite architectural practitioners and researchers from around the globe to contribute with knowledge from critically engaged practices and research that support the SDGs.

Kick-off event

It is with great excitement that we can announce that on November 23 the Scientific Committee will have its Kick-off event, where calls and questions will be presented and critically discussed with an invited audience of international researchers and practitioners. Soon after, we will publish calls and questions and invite everyone to initiate debates and produce work that can contribute to the urgent dialogue around what the measures are that can change the way we think, design and build our societies, and how we implement these changes.

Partnerships

The UIA2023CPH Science Track is a partnership between CITA Royal Danish Academy – Institute of Architecture and Technology, the UIA Commission on the Sustainable Development Goals, and the UIA World Congress of Architects 2023. A section dedicated to the agenda, work, events and output of the Science Track will soon be launched on our website, where more in-depth information will be provided.

Architecture and the built environment has a special agency in how we shape our societies and therefore has enormous potential to contribute to sustainable, equitable and inclusive futures for all.
