Symposium for Design for Climate Adaptation, June 7-9, 2022

The pre-event symposium of Panel 1: Design for Climate Adaptation will focus on how architecture can approach climate adaptation, using indigenous knowledge, nature-based solutions, and behavioural change and action. The symposium examines the three themes across a three-day event. You can join the event online. The symposium is organised by Panel Chairs Billie Faircloth and Maibritt Pedersen Zari.

Sandi Hilal to give keynote at the Royal Danish Academy

Sandi Hilal, member of the UIA World Congress 2023 CPH Scientific Committee and panel chair of Panel 6: Design for Partnerships for Change has been invited to give a keynote lecture at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen on April 26.

First programme for the Year of Architecture is out

First programme for the Year of Architecture is out In 2023, Copenhagen has been chosen as the architectural capital by UNESCO and the international association of architects,UIA, and the first edition of the program is ready.

Call for Side Events

UIA World Congress of Architecture will take place in Copenhagen from July 2 to July 6, 2023. All friends of the congress are invited to contribute with proposals for events and activities which will happen during the conference, but outside the Bella Center venue.

PRESS RELEASE: Major architecture event in Copenhagen announces ‘Call for Papers’

When Copenhagen is host to the 28th UIA World Congress of Architects in 2023, more than 10.000 professionals are expected to participate to explore how architecture can create a more sustainable future. In a new Call for Papers, the UIA World Congress 2023 invites contributions that will shape the congress. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present at the congress taking place in Copenhagen, July 2-6, 2023.

Today the UIA World Congress 2023 CPH Science Track opens its Call for Papers, asking how architecture can activate its profound agency in shaping our societies and its potentials for a sustainable, equitable and inclusive future for all.

The UIA 2023 World Congress in Copenhagen will be a platform for the voices of the future. Since the future will be populated by the young, we must include their views, their ideas and their solutions to the issues facing us all.

Merve Bedir is a new co-panel chair for Panel 6

Merve Bedir is the new co-chair of Panel 6: Design for Partnerships of Change. She will be taking over for Yaşar Adnan Adanali. We thank Yaşar Adnan Adanali for his work in laying the foundations for the panel, and look forward to Merve Bedir’s contribution.

Mette Lindberg is the new CEO of UIA2023CPH

Mette Lindberg has been appointed as the new CEO of the Congress Secretariat. She is taking over from Annette Blegvad, who has been appointed the new Global Policy Advisor for the congress.

Science Track Kick-off Event

The UIA2023CPH Scientific Committee hosted a large online participatory kick-off event on November 26. Researchers and practitioners from across the globe were invited to reflect upon the work of the six Science Panels undertaken by the Scientific Committee over the past year. The three-hour collaborative event offered plenary presentations of the themes of each of the six Science Panels as well as opportunity for debate and exchanges in smaller breakout sessions.
