Merve bedir is the new co-chair of panel 6: partnerships of change

Merve Bedir is the new co-chair of Panel 6: Design for Partnerships of Change. She will be taking over for Yaşar Adnan Adanali. We thank Yaşar Adnan Adanali for his work in laying the foundations for the panel, and look forward to Merve Bedir’s contribution.

The UIA 2023 CPH Science Track is honored to announce that Merve Bedir has joined the Scientific Committee as Panel Chair for Panel 6: Design for Partnerships for Change.

Merve Bedir brings an inspirational and highly relevant practice-based and academic profile to the Scientific Committee, and the UIA 2023 CPH looks very much forward to her engagement.

Her work examines infrastructures of hospitality and mobility and posthuman relationships in the context of ecology and cybernetics. She is co-founder of Aformal Academy, which is an experimental school program in the Pearl River Delta region, a founding member of Mutfak مطبخ Workshop in Gaziantep that focuses on the Kitchen as a cultural space, and a founding member of Center for Spatial Justice in Istanbul. She is currently a fellow at BAK Utrecht.

Merve Bedir is appointed as successor to Yaşar Adnan Adanali, who has decided to step down.
The UIA2023CPH Science Track has received the news of Yaşar’s departure with regret but also with great gratitude for his contribution to the Science Track for the past year and a half.

Merve Bedir has agreed to immediately step in and continues the work on Panel 6: Design for Partnerships for Change in collaboration with co-Panel Chair Sandi Hilal.
