Mette Lindberg is the new CEO of UIA2023CPH

Mette Lindberg has been appointed as the new CEO of the Congress Secretariat. She is taking over from Annette Blegvad, who has been appointed the new Global Policy Advisor for the congress.

Mette Lindberg is appointed new CEO of the Congress. Mette Lindberg has profound sector knowledge and solid experience in developing and conducting large events. Moreover, as former congress programme manager, she already has a full overview of the congress’ activities.

“The congress planning is moving reapidly forward, and we are looking into an exciting spring with calls for both papers and other contributions. I am looking forward to launch a congress that resonates around the world and that demonstrates how architecture and architects can contribute to a sustainable future for all,” says Mette Lindberg.

To enhance the UIA World Congress´ global outreach and the cooperation with international associations, former CEO Annette Blegvad has been appointed Global Policy Advisor. Annette Blegvad was one of the main forces in getting the UIA World Congress to Copenhagen in 2017 and establishing the congress secretariat. Going forward Annette will be in charge of building and handling relations concerning UIA, e.g. The World Urban Forum 2022 and future COPs.

”I am proud of bringing architecture and architects actively into taking a leading role in our joint effort to reaching the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals before 2030 and I will continue to work with this important ambition,” says Annette Blegvad.
