Indigenous views on sustainable design from around the planet

The UIA Indigenous Peoples Work Programme (IPWP) was established in 2022 to promote the value of design and architecture based on Indigenous knowledge and to provide the global architectural community with knowledge, skills, and resources to advocate for and work in collaboration with Indigenous communities for a better world for all.

This inaugural event of the IPWP will introduce Indigenous Peoples from around the globe, sharing diverse ways of knowing, doing and being in architecture and what Indigenous design means in their respective Nations. The session will be hosted by IPWP co-chairs, Elisapeta Heta (New Zealand) and Patrick Stewart (Canada).
