KEYNOTE LECTURE: JUSTICE AND EQUALITY

On April 26, 2022. Sandi Hilal, member of the UIA CPH World Congress 2023 Scientific Committee and panel chair of Panel 6: Design for Partnerships for Change will give a keynote lecture at the Royal Danish Academy.

The international lecture series 2022 at the Royal Danish Academy will engage with the agenda of the UIA World Congress 2023 Copenhagen Sustainable Futures – Leave No One Behind. The lecture series will explore a variety of architectural practices and ask how they think about and act upon the profound agency architecture and the built environment holds in shaping our societies, and how we can strengthen and make better use of its potentials for creating a sustainable, equitable and inclusive future for all.

As an architect, artist, and educator Sandi Hilal has developed a research and project-based artistic practice that is both theoretically ambitious and practically engaged in the struggle for justice and equality. Her keynote will be the first in the lecture series and the following conversation and q&a will be moderated by UIA Vice President of Region 1, Natalie Mossin.

The event is free and open to the public. It will not be livestreamed but the recording will be published on the UIA World Congress 2023 Copenhagen website soon after the event.
