Andri Snær Magnason is an Icelandic writer and documentary film director. He has written novels, poetry, plays, short stories, and essays. Andri is also a director and producer of three documentary films that have premiered in IDFA and CPH:DOX. His work has been published or performed in more than 40 countries. Andri has collaborated with various artists in film, music, theatre, architecture, activism and design.
Andri ran for President of Iceland in 2016 with environmental issues on his agenda and came third. Andri was vice-president of The Icelandic Writers Union and a board member of The Culture House in Reykjavik. He is currently a board member for the Icelandic Design and Architecture.
