Burcu Selcen Coskun

Associate Professor, PhD., Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Turkey

Graduated from Mimar Sinan University Department of Architecture in 2000, she earned her PhD in 2012 from Architectural Conservation Post-Graduate Programme from the same university. During 2014-2015, she was a visiting researcher at the University of York, UK.
Selcen currently teaches undergraduate and post graduate students architectural heritage courses at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

Her research primarily focuses on the theory and history of heritage conservation in the world and in Turkey. Her academic interests include the conservation of 20th century architecture and children and heritage studies. Apart from her teaching position, she authored publications related with her research interests and conducted a heritage awareness projects with children in Istanbul. She is currently a member of ICOMOS Turkey and Docomomo International.
