Edward-YW Leung

Architect & Heritage Conservation Teacher

A practising architect and a heritage conservation teacher. He was the former Chair of the Heritage and Conservation Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA). His works include the Restoration of Guangyu Ancestral Hall in Guangzhou of, China (UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Conservation Award of Excellence 2003), Adaptive Reuse of an ensemble of 1910’s shop houses in Hong Kong into an art and cultural community center (2014 HKIA Annual Award), the research and academic article “Accidental Marriage: Chinese Roofs of Early Colonial Architectures of Hong Kong” (Best Paper Award in 2017 UIA Seoul World Architect Congress), and Adaptive Reuse of 1914 Former Banque de l’Indochine Building in Guangzhou into an Art Institute.

He presented on international professional forums like UIA, Docomomo, ArcAsia and EAAC. He is an active UIA Heritage and Culture Work Programme member.
