Ellen Braae

Professor, University of Copenhagen, Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management

Ellen Braae is since 2009 professor at the University of Copenhagen, heading the Research Group for Landscape Architecture and Urbanism, and working at the intersection of design and humanities, of practice and academia. She is trained as an architect and landscape architect and holds a PhD degree in Transformation, Urbanism and Heritage. She is highly engaged with our common lifeworld and its further sustainable development and innovation through the field of landscape architecture.

Ellen has written extensively in journals and magazines, and she is the author of several books including Beauty Redeemed. Recycling Post-industrial Landscapes (2015), Routledge Research Companion to Landscape Architecture (2018), and most recently Urban Planning in the Nordic World (2022).
