Architect & Vice President, UIA Region 2

Architect Istelianna Necho Atanassova (Bulgaria, Georgia) is the Vice President of the International Union of Architects responsible for the UIA Region II comprising the countries from Eastern Europe and Near and Middle East. She has worked in different countries and has realised architecture and urban planning projects in Bulgaria, Germany, Italy and Libya among others.

She is deeply committed to the international work and has participated in various international organisations and UIA working bodies. Istelianna Atanassova is actively involved in the international forums and competitions for young architects. She is Founder and Co-President of the Balkan Architecture Forum (BAF) – a non profit association of professional organisations and architects from the Balkan countries in Europe. She is also a member of the Governing Council of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria and a Honorary member of the Georgian Union of Architects.

Istelianna Atanassova is experienced in developing and carrying out business plans, economic investment research and analyses, project design and expertise, sustainable practices, cultural and architectural heritage and innovations, international exchange of good practices and partnerships.
