N. Papatya Seçkin

Professor, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Turkey

N. Papatya Seçkin, is a Professor in Department of Architecture at MSFAU. She has earned her MSc and PhD degrees in Building Physics and Material Program at MSFAU. Her main research focuses on the building materials, material analysis techniques, waterproofing systems, urban and landscape design issues. She has numerous papers presented in international conferences and published in academic journals, research projects on construction materials and details, physical environment control and landscape design.

She has consultancy on many buildings, especially on the protection, repair and design of wooden structures. She has won awards in many urban design competitions. Among the books she is the author of are ‘Sustainable Landscape Design and Implementation Principles’ and ‘Water and Humidity Control in Buildings’. She served as deputy head of architecture department from 2014 to 2020. In addition to being an academician in the Department of Architecture MSFAU, she works as the Director of Construction Research Centre at MSFAU and continues her design and application studies related to her profession.
