A graduate of Thames College of Architecture in London, Tokunbo Omisore is a Chartered Architect with a wealth of professional experience spanning over four decades in the built environment sector – with specialty in hospitality and retail design, planning and turnkey development. As an innovator, changemaker, and ardent architectural advocacy champion – who have energetically, efficiently, and prudently led the Africa Union of Architects over a sustained period of time, Tokunbo has led an outstanding career as a visionary architect, developer, design-builder, thought leader, and a committed advocate who has contributed immensely to advancing the profession of architecture in the continent of Africa.
Tokunbo has accompanied his professional work with a powerful commitment to the advancement of architectural excellence in Africa, serving the profession in various capacities including being Secretary General and President of the Africa Union of Architects (AUA).
More broadly, in recognition of his diligent service to the profession, and more specifically as the consummate ambassador for architecture in Africa, at the 2021 Rio de Janeiro Congress and General Assembly of the International Union of Architects (UIA), Tokunbo was elected as UIA’s Vice President for Region 5 for his significant contributions to the design and construction industry in the African region – promoting the spirit and values of excellence, integrity, inclusion, integration, and leadership.
