Abdullatif Alfozan Award for Mosque Architecture is an international lead institution that aims to develop mosque architecture, and one of its main objectives is encouraging research work on mosque art, architecture, and urbanism. The award has remarkable databases on mosque architecture that have been derived from several activities, as the mosque consider one of the important buildings worldwide that effects city urbanism and daily human life, and among history mosques were the most influential on cities and communities.
Sustainability is the main reason for mosque’s endurance, subsistence, and survival. This because sustainability at mosque is congregational, it is a multilayer of architectural, environmental, social, and economic issues. Throughout presenting some examples accompanied with experts’ analysis.
This panel discussion will present those different perspectives of sustainability and its implication with mosque architecture and urbanism.
The concept of sustainability at mosque architecture varies depending on its environment, hence, to ensure the sustainability at mosques, it should have a stable architecture that is integrating mosque eco-system, human communities along with a sustained operational system.
The session will be moderated by the secretary-general of the Abdullatif Alfozan award for mosque architecture, and it will host architects experienced with mosque design, mosques history as well as mosque’ urban sociology.
