She is real estate developer, investor, and CEO of Unexum Real Estate – the first winner of C40’s Reinventing Cities. Working from London and Madrid, Margarita creates resilient public spaces and pushes for decarbonisation, inclusion, equality, and green regeneration to create a fairer future through intelligent design, innovation, and smart technology. In all elements of real estate – from construction to energy, and from waste and water management to greenery – Margarita understands the need to be inclusive and involve the community. She uses the power of roundtables, engagement events, participatory apps, and workshops to promote diverse and sustainable options. Her current projects include The Campus for Living Cities for the Vallecas site in Madrid. She has also been entrusted by the IE University’s School of Architecture and Design to establish and lead the first blended-learning master’s program in Real Estate Development and Cities. This is designed to be a globally oriented programme that emphasises real estate development under technological innovation, ESG criteria, and urban regeneration for resilient and inclusive urban environments.
