Sebastian Monsalve

Architect, Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Medellin)

Sebastian Monsalve is an architect from Medellin-Colombia, distinguished in the fields of urban design and landscape architecture.

Graduated from the National University of Colombia. He completed postgraduate studies obtaining a Master’s degree in ARCHITECTURE from National University of Colombia, founder of Cauce office, Landscape architecture and Co-Founder of the LATITUD workshop office. He currently works as a teacher at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Medellin) and also as an adviser in the government of Antioquia.

He has been a lecturer, visiting professor and jury at the Catholic University of Córdoba (Argentina), Belo Horizonte (Brazil) and Montevideo (Uruguay).

His most Relevant Project; Parque Botánico Río Medellín, was recognized as first place in the category of parks and recreational areas in the II Latin American Biennial of Landscape Architecture, also obtained the awards in the categories Future Project, Agua WAFX and Master Plan of the World Architecture Festival 2018, was also recognized as new sustainable infrastructure at the XII Latin American Infrastructure Leadership Forum organized by BID – CAF – FDN and was the winner of the Karl Brunner Prize for Urban Design and Landscaping at the XXVII Colombian Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (2020), among others.

During his professional career he has won 11 Contests, of which 6 are public and 4 are private, he has 3 second places, two third places and 4 honorable mentions.

Other projects in which he has been recognized are the sports, recreational and cultural center of the Fontanar del Río Park in Bogotá, the UIMIST Hospital Unit, the Arts and Crafts Park and the El Carmen de Viboral Educational Park.
