Mette Mechlenborg has a profound knowledge on homemaking, home culture and housing in a cross interdisciplinary research field from London University (visiting PhD-student 2008), School of Design (visiting PhD-student 2009-2012) and Southern University of Denmark. Selected research topics are micro living, single-family-houses and their material culture, social life in new Danish high rises, sustainable everyday life practices, gender and home, deprived housing areas etc.
Mette Mechlenborg has more than 90 publications, including three books and numerous peer reviewed articles. She has been enrolled in several networks, for example Centre for Housing and Welfare /Center for Housing Research 2006-2012. From 2020, she was elected the faculty’s Academic Council.
