Didier Vancutsem

Professor, ULB Free University of Brussels – Faculty of Architecture

Didier Vancutsem holds bachelor and master’s degrees in landscape architecture, city and regional planning and regional management. He is Professor at the ULB Free University of Brussels – Faculty of Architecture since 2009, teaching in Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning Master programs. He has gained professional experience worldwide in urban innovation, landscape management, elaboration of national and regional strategies for integrated urban development in Europe and Middle East, Africa, Asia.

He was ISOCARP Secretary General the International Society of City and Regional Planners 2013-2019, and is currently director of the ISOCARP Institute, its research branch. Since October 2021, he is Vice-President Professional Practice of the International Federation of Landscape Architects Europe (IFLA EUROPE). He represents PCG Professional, World Urban campaign, UN Habitat
