Partnerships for Change – Exploring The potential of UIA Region 2 – Ukraine and Lebanon

Region II of UIA comprises architectural organisations of the following countries: from Europe (Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Baltic countries – Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, along with Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the Balkan countries – Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Republic of North Macedonia, Kosovo, Slovenia, Croatia and Greece), the Black Sea and Caspian Sea regions (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan) and countries from the Mediterranean and the Middle East (Turkey, Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Israel).

The UIA Region 2 is characterized by its various cultures, ways of life, architectural heritage and natural treasures. We will be sharing various ways of practice across the Region’s countries, the challenges architects face today, global trends and their local impact as well as the necessity for collaboration across all levels. We will focus on Ukraine and Lebanon.

We will discuss how we can unite our efforts in creating a healthy environment, retain cultural heritage and help create a new Ukraine that thrives on resilient communities and innovative ways of preserving its natural resources. We will also touch upon partnerships with UN Habitat and HPF, the European Investment Bank and local governments amongst others towards building a better future for all: within the region and beyond.
