Bruno Demers

Executive Director, Architecture Sans Frontières Québec (ASFQ)

Bruno Demers is the Executive Director of Architecture Sans Frontières Québec (ASFQ), an NGO that represents the official humanitarian arm of the Ordre des Architectes du Québec (OAQ). He has held this position since 2017, after serving two years on the organization’s board of directors. Within ASFQ, he develops various activity programs dedicated to indigenous housing, international cooperation, climate resilience, urban solidarity, circular economy, and architectural education.

Bruno Demers is holder of a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Quebec in Montreal, and he specialized in various issues related to human rights, sustainable development and construction before joining ASFQ. In particular, he was director of education at the Canada Green Building Council, where he developed the association’s major conferences and training courses on LEED certification at the provincial level. Demers has also worked as a journalist and editor, where he covered certain issues for the OAQ, including COP21 in Paris in 2015 and the UN World Summit on Sustainable Cities in Quito in 2016.
