Rikke Juul Gram

Partner and Creative Director, Studio Schønherr

Rikke Juul Gram is an award-winning landscape architect, experienced specialist in landscape architecture, large scale urban planning and climate adaption in urban and rural contexts. She is partner and creative director in the landscape architect studio Schønherr where she is involved in a large part of Schønherr’s urban space, landscape, and coastal development projects.

Rikke Juul Gram is a sought-after speaker for lectures and symposia as well as a prominent voice in the public debate. She is a forward-thinking and visionary architect preoccupied with forming architectural responses to societal challenges, such as the climate challenges of our time. When working to counter storm surges, rising sea level, groundwater, and extreme rain, she is deeply involved in formulating architectural responses with a focus on working with the forces of nature. At present, one of those projects, Copenhagen Islands, is exhibited at The Danish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale – a transformed map of the Danish capital addressing the urgent challenges of storm surges and flooding by basing the urban planning on the city’s underlying topography, nature-based solutions and the encounter with nature.
