Cid Blanco

Co-Director, UIA SDG Commission

Cid Blanco Jr. has a Master’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo (Brazil), and is a PhD Candidate at the University of Lisbon (Portugal). He is a specialist in planning and management of programs to reduce urban poverty by the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (Netherlands) and in housing design and development by the Department of Architecture and Environment of the Engineering Faculty of Lund (Sweden).

He has worked for 15 years in public administration with policies on urban development, housing, strategic planning, social inclusion, and citizen participation, at the local and national levels. As a consultant, he has worked for national and international governmental institutions, including United Nations agencies and development banks. He currently works as a senior specialist in sustainable urban development, housing and public management, and coordinates the SDG Commission of the International Union of Architects and (UIA) and the Metropolitan Observatory of the SDGs (METRODS).
